I am a reliable and thorough translator, an undergraduate of social sciences (MSc), and a social worker. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Spanish translation, and my minors in German translation and multicultural studies. I have studied in English since high school, and therefore I have near-native proficiency in English.
Having lived in different parts of Latin America and Germany, my Spanish is excellent and my German intermediate. In addition, I have studied French for 13 years. I did my internship in Morocco, and my French skills are intermediate. I can also translate from Swedish to Finnish.
The most significant of my translation projects has been the translation of a full radio program, Radio Dolores, from Finnish to Spanish. In addition, I have translated several fictional as well as non-fictional texts over the years and done language-checking.
I have worked a lot with immigrants, planning and organizing Finnish language classes. In addition to Finnish, I have used English, Spanish, French and Swedish as my working languages in the social work field.
I am passionate about different languages and cultures. I have extensive experience in multidisciplinary and multicultural organizational work; I have been involved in international projects on four different continents. My colleagues have described me as an innovative, independent, positive and diligent employee.
I am currently writing my master’s thesis on migration in Mexico, and working as a part-time translator.
