My name is Rocío and I am a Spanish native speaker and a creative, motivated and talented proofreader and translator from English and Italian into Spanish with a MA in Linguistics and BA in English Studies.
I possess an extensive linguistic and philological education and a deep knowledge of my working languages in all the essential aspects needed to get quality translations.
I also have wide professional experience in translation and proofreading after having worked for big international companies (like IBM or Redknee) from different areas of business, particularly on the IT, telecommunications, marketing and tourism sectors.
I translate all kind of texts:
• General and specialized translations. Stories, essays, articles, interviews, journalistic and divulgation texts, information and promotional brochures, correspondence, internal documentations, reports, manuals, webs, applications, etc.
Although I have translated and proofread a wide range of topics, my main areas of expertise are: computer science, technology and telecommunications (hardware, software, applications) and tourism. My professional expertise and my academic training and interests have provided me also with extensive knowledge and experience in the translation of texts on other fields such as the social sciences, humanities, marketing, commerce, art, culture, linguistics, fashion and luxury.
All the translations are approached with research, knowledge, precision and curiosity. They are also revised minutely in order to ensure their consistency and coherence to achieve an optimal result.
My philosophy as a translator can be summarized in: Professionalism, precision, rigour, quality, confidentiality and a deep love for languages and communication.
And my dream as a linguist is to help people in their communication needs breaking down language barriers and making information accessible for everybody.
Additionally, I am an experienced user of translation tools such as SDL Trados 2011 or OmegaT and I am used to work with different file formats, feeling comfortable with the technical issues resulting from the translation process.
